Treatments/Surgeries July 1999 - Surgery to remove tumor located in cerebellum. POG 9961 (B) is chosen. August 1999 - 6 week cycle of radiation starts (Monday - Friday). Alex received 2340 cGY of craniospinal radiation and an additional 3240 cGY of radiation directly to the primary tumor site. Undergoes surgery to implant medi-port. September 1999 - While continuing radiation, the first of 8 chemotherapy cycles are started consisting of cytoxan, vincristine and cisplatin. February 2000 - Hospitalized for pneumonia. Asthma is incorrectly diagnosed. December 2000 - The last of the 8 chemotherapy cycles end. April 2001 - Medi-port surgically removed. December 2001 - During routine MRI, a small object is found in right frontal lobe. February 2002 - Spinal tap reveals fluid is negative for cancer cells. March 2002 - Endoscopic surgery to remove object which is later found to be medulloblastoma through pathology tests. April 2002 - Starts antiangeogenesis therapy consisting of daily oral doses of Thalidamide, Celebrex, and Cyclophosamide. December 2002 - Hospitalized for persistant respiratory infections. DNA and sweat tests reveal cystic fibrosis. Starts daily therapy of Pulmazine, Albuterol, and Chest therapy via motorized vest. June 2003 - During routine MRI, a small object is found in right frontal lobe. July 2003 - Undergoes stereotactic surgery to kill cells. HOSPITALS
